Here's a little update!
I am SO CLOSE on The Weekender sweater. I've finished one sleeve and have about 2/3 left on the second sleeve. We are heading up to a cabin tomorrow for a week so I spend a good portion of the weekend getting the house tidied up and making lists of what we need to bring. My mom and dad are heading up there today, so they'll let me know if they forgot anything and we can pick it up on the way. We're keeping it pretty simple and just doing deli sandwiches for lunches, but have a few good recipes to cook for dinner. I plan to finish the Weekender in the first day or two, along with a pair of slippers I'm test knitting for Gritty Knits. I'll talk more about those in another post. I'll try and update while I'm at the cabin, but I don't know what the internet will be like, I have a feeling that it's a poor connection. I also don't have a laptop so that might limit me as well. I've actually been thinking about researching one to buy in the future, as I really think it would be useful.
I've also thought a bit about doing dome vlogging on YouTube, but I haven't researched that idea at all. Feel free to give an opinion on that, or really anything here, lol.
I keep meaning to post this recipe, as it's one of our family's favorites. We have it about once a week, lol.

we use boneless skinless chicken thighs and I use 1/2 smoked paprika and 1/2 regular paprika, and otherwise stick to the recipe. Also, for the herb mixture, I put it in the container with the raw chicken and shake it around, then dump it in the pan, it's less messy and I hate handling raw meat with a fierceness.
Here's a photo of the Cheating at Checkers cowl I'm making along with Kim4theDay on Twitch, as well as others. It's going to be a gift for my mother-in-law. I'm using a purple-pink worsted merino by Malabrigo, and a fingering held double, mixed colorway from Moonglow Yarn Co. that I don't seem to have the label for any longer. It's coming out great, imo.

I personally would watch a vlog if you decided to go that route. Sometimes typing things out is easier and sometimes talking them out is easier, so if you had both outlets that could be freeing.
ReplyDeleteI'll be sharing this recipe with Joe and I will let you know once we try it!
I love the colors on that KAL and feel the desire to learn to knit (again, the first go around wasn't fabulous lol)
AHHH! A COMMENT!!
DeleteI appreciate your input on both the vlog idea and on the yarn color choices! The colors are totally something my m-i-l already wears, so I thought they'd be great, but I am not the world's best at pairing colors, so having your opinion makes me feel a bit more secure in my choice.
I hope you and Joe like it! I'm making it for mom and dad this week at the cabin and I hope they like it as well. Honestly, it's so good that if they don't like it they're wrong. Ha!
